There were 10 Black Belt promotions with several advanced degrees. Many great performances all around!

Promotions are a good time to stop and appreciate what has been accomplished. Years of training are represented in this achievement. The years go by so quickly either way, it is impressive to see the skill and composure developed in the students through their training. Certainly a life changing activity for youth and adult alike. Congratulations to all and their families as well.

Testing in Albuquerque this Saturday. Morning session starts at 10, afternoon starts at 1.

There is a pot-luck party to celebrate testing and Master Garcia’s retirement from Sandia. Come enjoy some good food and honor everyone’s achievements!

Another great tournament in Belen. Congratulations to all that participated. Here are the Kim’s folks that made it to the end… (pics here)

Outstanding performances by the Grand Champion winners: (from the right to left) Jeffery, Jerry, Ranee, Gloriana, and Caleb. Caleb took both men’s forms and fighting to win two absolutely beautiful Damascus steel sword sets awarded by the gracious hosts Masters Richard and Cindy Long. There is great competition at the annual tournament and scholarship fund raiser in memory of their daughter, Captain Tamara Long-Archuleta. This tournament is always a highlight of the year.

Testing is coming up in Albuquerque on Saturday, November 3rd. Time to get ready! The holiday party will be Saturday as well. Come share your favorite foods and let the kids play.  It is also a great time to get to know everyone. Of course, family and friends are welcome.
