This was one of the biggest promotions of black belts in a long time. Congratulations to all the participants. In particular:

Master Tony Tapia: 4th Dan
John De La Rosa, 3rd Dan
Megan Cheng, 2nd Dan

and the “Magnificent 7”. Who all achieved their 1st degree Black Belt.

Many thanks to those that that came in to town to attend: Masters Robert Watson and Verlin Rector from Farmington and Kirtland (thanks to the helpers too), Randy Cabeen from Oklahoma, and Arny Abbott from Arizona. It is an honor to have you here.

Congratulations to all the other students that tested as well. Great performances from the mighty tigers to the adults.

Many thanks to Master Rector for throwing the 2nd annual Kim’s gathering in Kirtland. It was quite an event. A lot of people tested, congratulations to you all!

Master Rector is hosting his big event this year on July 15 at the Kirtland KYA Gym from 10am to 3pm. This was very interesting and a lot of fun last year. Come check it out or join in!
